August 23 to 26 saw International Hockey Summit taking place in Toronto, Canada. On Monday Vladislav Tretiak, President of Russian Ice Hockey Federation (RIHF) met with his Canadian colleague Mr. Bob Nicholson, outside Summit’s official program.  Topics for discussions included, among other things, different issues of junior hockey development in both countries, for instance, possibility of Russian junior teams’ wider participation in more tournaments held in Canada on a regular basis, and reciprocal participation of young Canadians  in the annual Russian Tiumen’ Region Tournament held in April. Another topic dealt with a possibility to invite Canadian hockey experts to hold master classes for Russian National Teams’ players and coaches as well as possible organization of a long term coaching courses program.
