In connection with the agreement between the Russian Ice Hockey Federation and the Talent and Success foundation, theory and practical sessions took place with young ice hockey players between the 2nd and 4th of March at the Sirius Educational Centre.
Players born in 2003 from the Ural-Western Siberia region participated. The under 17 Russian national team head coach Vladimir Filatov ran the training sessions alongside the main specialist of the RIHF's methodical department Dmitry Polyanchikov.
The specialists spoke about tendencies of ice hockey's current development at youth level in the world, covered issues concerning technical tactics for defensemen and forwards, and looked at faceoff techniques.
World champion Alexei Yashin took part in one of the training sessions. Cooperation with ice hockey players of such a high calibre adds importance to the educational programs which the RIHF and the Sirius Educational Centre organise together for the younger generation.
